La Crosse Youth Track Club

Practice Structure

Each practice begins with a team warm-up featuring dynamic stretching and form drills designed for proper technique development. Athletes will participate in running drills that help develop good form in a low-pressure environment. This foundation ensures safety and promotes skill development for all age groups.

Schedule: 

Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6pm-7:15pm

June 9th- July 18th

Facilities & Equipment

Practices are held at the Logan High School track facility at 1500 Ranger Drive. The facility features a full competition track and field setup. Athletes should bring:

  • Water bottle
  • Weather-appropriate athletic clothing
  • Running shoes
  • Spikes (optional, for grades 6-12)

Competition Opportunities

Local Mini-Meets:

  • Two Friday morning meets (Holmen/Galesville and Onalaska) for ages 6-14 (2026 Dates: Galesville 6/26; Onalaska 7/10)

Advanced Competition Options:

Athletes interested in USATF competition will need to become USATF members. Additional competition details and registration information will be distributed during the season.

Training Philosophy

Our program embraces a comprehensive approach to track and field. Athletes are encouraged to try various events to discover their strengths and interests. This exploration-based approach helps young athletes develop overall athletic ability while finding events they truly enjoy.

For our youngest athletes (grades 1-5), the focus is on fundamental movement skills and having fun. For older athletes (grades 6-12), we provide more specialized training while maintaining opportunities to explore new events throughout the season.
